Where in the World is Ilya Kovalchuk?

Kovy. Kovy. Kovy.

Everyone and their brother and even their second cousin twice removed who has never watched a hockey game beforeare talking about what will Ilya Kovalchuk do. Is he going to stay in the NHL?  Is he going to head back to Russia and play in the KHL?  Why get all worked up about it.  He is either going to sign with your team or he isn’t.  Nothing we blog about or tweet about is going to have anything to do with what he decides to do. 

Would Kovy fit in the desert?  Honestly, I don’t really think so.

No disrespect to the guy he is a talented player (and anyone that wants to say other wise can feel free to post your argument in the comments section) I just do not feel he is a fit for the Coyotes.  Yes he has put up some good numbers during his time with the Atlanta Thrashers, but didn’t do anything to make an impression with the Devils (except get called Koval-Choke).

Around 8 p.m. tonight Kovalchuk’s agent Jay Grossman had this to say via twitter:

"Ilya Kovalchuk choices have been narrowed down, details to be finalized but no announcement tonight…."

Looks like tomorrow we may finally have out answer to where in the world is Kovalchuk going.
