Sadly no – but it is August 1st so we are one step closer to the start of the NHL Regular season. It is now August and we haven’t seen a live hockey game played since June and Kovalchuk still doesn’t have a home. What are we going to do with ourselves?

Well those that are in Plymouth, Michigan area I have a game for you!

This coming Saturday (August 7th) the Plymouth Whalers are having an Alumni Game.

The Whalers are a member of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and play out of the Compuware Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.

Saturday’s game will feature cu rent NHL players: James Neal from the Dallas Stars, Jared Boll from the Columbus Blue Jackets, and Justin Peters in net from the Carolina Hurricanes. Along with hometown players like James Wisniewski from the New York Islanders who grew up in Canton, Fraser-native Chad LaRose from the Carolina Hurricanes and David Legwand the Grosse Pointe Woods-native who plays for the Nashville Predators.
