Hat Trick Frenzy

With just 17 games so far into the season, the Coyotes already have four hat tricks. The only other team with more than one is the Washington Capitals, who have two. An interesting note here is that every player who has recorded a hat trick this year for the Coyotes had no goals prior to the game in which they scored the hat trick.

It all started with Lee Stempniak against Los Angeles, then Ed Jovanovski against Nashville. Then Friday and Saturday, Vernon Fiddler and Ray Whitney recorded hat tricks. Jovo was the only player who scored all three of his goals with a goalie in the net. Stempniak, Fiddler, and The Wizard all sealed their hat tricks with empty netters. Coincidentally, all four hat tricks have come on home ice.
