Coyotes at Stars; The puck finally drops on 2013 season.

The Phoenix Coyotes flirted with the Stanley Cup last year. Now it’s time to hunt it, win it, stick in where it belongs; In the Valley of the Sun. Where it can shine in eternity.

Hockey has always been in Arizona for as long as I can remember. The Roadrunners started it all for me. Now it’s time to drive it deep into the hearts of all Arizonians. Best way to make hockey work for good here in Arizona? “Win the whole F’in thing” to steal a quote from Major League. After a short camp and fast and furious moves by the front office, sales staff, and players. It will all get started Saturday night at 6pm AZ time.

Good news is it appears the Phoenix Coyotes will enter the 2013 campaign at full health. Full strength. Maybe not at full speed. It may take some time to get the sea legs but with coach Dave Tippett’s system, it may be a deadly catch for the opposition. A lot will be found out in the span of less than 30 hours. 4-5% of the season will be over when we go to sleep Sunday night. The LA Kings will present the Stanley Cup. The Coyotes will raise the Pacific Division (consolation prize) banner, which will be given to the first 15,000 in the building in mini form.

It will be tough starting the season with a back to back. We need to do whatever it takes to get the win in Dallas then ride an emotional home crowd to again defeat the Chicago Blackhawks. I think that game will go to overtime. AGAIN! That was a magical series last season and one that will live in hearts of Coyotes fans forever. It may of been the series to save the season but maybe to save the team. From leaving that is.

The team Friday assigned Nick Johnson, Rob Klinkhammer and Michael Stone to Portland.  Stone a victim of too much talent on the Blue Line!

More on Chicago tomorrow night. Next 24 hours….the HUNT is on! Dallas Stars are wondering through a desert. Hungry Coyotes are waiting to devour them. Everybody HOWWWLLLLL!!!!
