Ducks take D3 as no one liked that movie anyway. 2-0 shutout of Coyotes

Well this is the tight game I expected but to be shut out was a shock. Perry got the only meaningful goal of the game and it was over.

Anaheim had the jump from the drop of the puck to start the game. Then a beautiful goal that went tape to tape to Perry for the goal. That was it. The defenses took over and goal tenders too over the spotlight. Jason LaBarbera played very well in relief but Jonas Hiller was stellar in net.

Stellar may be a bit much as it may be more the ‘Yotes didn’t get enough opportunities and just could not bury the puck. Only 18 shots Hiller had to save in the end. Not enough as Phoenix had offensive possessions but they did not yield a goal and the teams both come away with 4 points after the 3 game movie trilogy. Where was the knuckle puck? Something to get past the stingy Anaheim defense that was tired of playing at jobing.com arena.

Ryan Getzlaf added an empty net goal to ice it with less than a minute. Meaning Jason LaBarbera only gave up one early goal and was solid ever since saving 22 attempts.

This game was to be the icing on the cake to announce the Coyotes’ presence in the Pacific division or status quo for the Ducks who in fact own the division as of now. Good news is a fresh Mike Smith tomorrow against the Blues but the bad news is they are in Glendale resting while our boys are boarding a flight. Look for more scoring tomorrow because anything is better than zero.

Phoenix has to just focus on 4 of 6 possible points which is good and with 14 points or more given to the Western conference somewhere after each full game across the board, points are at a premium. Next up 3 at home against St. Louis, Dallas, and LA. You MUST protect home ice and get 4 or 5 points before hitting the road for a stretch.

Puck drops tomorrow night at Jobing.com at 7pm.  Everyone show up and HOWL!
