Stanley Cup Odds Give Coyotes Chance to Prove Everyone Wrong

Yeah, yeah, I know… This is a really polite way of saying that “statistics suggest the Arizona Coyotes will win the 2015 Stanley Cup when hell freezes over”.

As the season approaches, the Las Vegas NHL odds become a hot topic. Every fan wants to go into the season equipped to say that every win is one step closer to overcoming those odds, and every loss can be overlooked- cause the team is believed to be way better than that. We’re just having an off night, guys. Things are going to look better on Thursday.

I’ve seen two different sets of odds.

This second one splits Chicago’s odds with the Boston Bruins and the L.A. Kings (surprise, surprise), reminding all of us that we should have a healthy, developed hatred for Dustin Brown and Milan Lucic in addition to Patrick Kane.

Both sources give the Coyotes some pretty terrible odds, with Vegas Insider putting Arizona at a 65/1 chance and Bovada.LV dropping the team to an abysmal 66/1- while the first at least puts the ‘Yotes over the New Jersey Devils and Edmonton, the latter basically boils down to ‘while you aren’t the Buffalo Sabres, you still don’t have a chance’.

For Coyotes fans, though, this is fantastic news. The team is sitting in what I like to call the hungriest group- all of the teams given similar odds to the Coyotes are exciting looking teams that could skyrocket past the odds given for the season.
