This afternoon, you can get a two-for-one: watch your favorite hockey team play, and give back to the community.

The puck will drop at 1:00pm at Gila River Arena, and it only costs $5 to attend (plus, there’s that whole free parking thing)- so why not? All proceeds from today’s inter-squad game will be given to the 100 Club of Arizona, which supports public safety organizations across the state.

Since it’s inception, the organization has spread more than $11 million across the state of Arizona, helping out families with firefighters, police officers, public safety officers, and paramedics.

The game will be played ‘Yote-against-‘Yote, so it’s just for fun. Giving money for a good cause, plus another chance to catch Max Domi in action before the season begins? Really, everyone should be there.

"“The Glendale Police Department is honored to partner with the ArizonaCoyotes and the 100 Club recognizing our fallen heroes and their families,” said Glendale Police ChiefDebora Black."

Ticket sales aren’t the only way to donate to the community today, though. In addition to an auction for autographed Arizona Coyotes jerseys, there will be a 50/50 raffle and a “Teddy Bear Toss”.

Want to come and participate in the Teddy Bear Toss? (Personally, that’s what I’d be taking part in.) It’s easy- just bring a new or unused 12′- 18′ stuffed teddy bear with you to the game, and you’ll get a chance to toss it onto the ice. While the auction and raffle will be used to provide money to the organizations in question, the bears will be given specifically to the Glendale Police and Fire Department, to be used to comfort children involved in car accidents or crime scene investigations.

We hope to see you there! For more information, check out the event’s press release, or head over to the Official Arizona Coyotes Website.
