The Week Of The Road Trip From Hell

Game One: Arizona Coyotes vs Tampa Bay Lightning, October 28th

Final Score: 7-3 (Read the recap here)

In the first of Arizona’s four road games, the team struggled immensely against the Tampa Bay Lightning, falling 7-3 but looking like they should have fallen 12-1. It was rough.

This was the game where the Coyotes realized that if they didn’t step their game up, they would start to fall behind in the league- and fast. I would point out the bright stars, but there were none.

Moving on.

Game Two: Arizona Coyotes vs Florida Panthers, October 30th

Final Score: 2-1 (Read the recap here)

Much closer game. This one could have been the Coyotes’, if not for Scottie Upshall bursting out of the box and netting Florida’s game-winning second goal.

Yep. The team lost to the Florida Panthers… but THINGS GOT WORSE.

Game Three: Arizona Coyotes vs Carolina Hurricanes, November 1st

Final Score: 3-0 (Read the recap here)

THIS REALLY HAPPENED.

To make the Coyotes feel a little bit better, the Hurricanes went on to beat the Los Angeles Kings Sunday night, making them an undefeated team for the month of November.

Will this last? Probably not. Does it help alleviate some of the Coyotes’ pain? You bet. Although nothing helped quite as much as game four…

Game Four: Arizona Coyotes vs Washington Capitals, November 2nd

Final Score: 6-5 (Read the recap here)

WE WON WE WON WE WON.

New guy Tobias Rieder scored his first goal of the NHL season (in his first game of the NHL season), probably making every Edmonton Oilers fan on the planet look at Kale Kessy and shake their heads sadly.

The team came back from a devastating 3-1 deficit in the first period to rally in the final forty minutes over the Metropolitan Division Washington Capitals, which boosted team morale to head home to Glendale.

About time.
