Poll: Arizona Coyotes Throwback Night Jerseys

The Arizona Coyotes get a chance to do a throwback, and that means old jerseys!

Before the season started, I told you guys that the hockey news ranked the Arizona Coyotes current logo as one of the best in the league — and at the time, I asked which Coyotes logo was your favorite.

Our readers were pretty unanimous (65 percent) in saying that they liked the  current logo better… but to my excitement (and I’m sure many others), the old logo and colors will be returning in just a few months — for Throwback Night.

The Coyotes have three options as to which uniform set they will wear come March 5th at Gila River Arena — the home whites, the road blacks, or the alternate green jersey (which was worn from 1998 until 2003).

I would guess that since in today’s NHL the home team wears dark, than the black sweater is the frontrunner to be worn — but I would make the argument that the team should go with the alternate green for several reasons.

1) I would absolutely buy a Shane Doan green throwback jersey if/when available

2) They might be some of the most unique jerseys the NHL has ever seen in — both color and design — and that’s awesome

3) Three ring of honor members skated in them. Jeremy RoenickTeppo Numminen and Keith Tkachuk all wore them while Coyotes.

4)  They look cool on the ice, even when it’s the Coyotes that are getting the beatdown —

The internet unfortunately doesn’t share the same love for them as I do — this jersey, worn by the Arizona Coyotes waaaay back when they were still Phoenix, has been on some worst NHL uniform lists like Bleacher Report and Untied Magazine.

Do you agree? Weigh in on our poll — and when the time comes, we’ll see whether the team went with the fan vote or the one that they most wanted.
