ANOTHER One Goal Victory For The Ducks, Shoots Down The Jets… AGAIN — This Is Sounding Like The Arizona Coyotes Tale Of Woe

Is this a TV summer rerun? The Ducks did it again! IF you’re not following along, Nadia Archuleta’s (Editor of Mile High Sticking) Ducks are the comeback, one goal game winners once more. While MY Jets (for this armchair editor challenge) got close again, and even harder to believe that they lost again AFTER leading after two periods.

Instead of a summer TV rerun, it looked like the way the Arizona Coyotes folding in the last stanza many games this past dreadful season.

This time the next two games will be in Winnipeg, where they have not had a NHL playoff game for 19 years ! The fans are over the top ready for these next two games, and to show it they are reinstating the WHITEOUT. See, we here in Arizona “borrowed” that tradtion when the Jets were re-located to Phoenix 1995.

If you’ve never attended (you gotta see it in person, TV does it no justice) it is a festival/carnival atmosphere event.

Fans not only wear white, they paint their faces white, dress like an all white alien, or Elvis dressed to the hilt in white, you name it. Even if you are a border line hockey fan, the people watching is over the top.

Anticipation here is high. And just like his fellow residents, Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman can’t wait.

"“We’ve waited about two decades for this, 19 years to be exact, to celebrate our Jets in the playoffs,” Bowman told NHL.com last week. “The excitement’s pretty thick in the air. You can really feel it across the city.”"

Now, as far as what the Winnipeg Jets need to do to get back into this series, here is Frederick Chabot’s (who was the goaltending coach for the Edmonton Oilers from 2009 to 2014, and played in the NHL for five seasons, spending time with the Montreal Canadiens, the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Los Angeles Kings) analysis:

There’s no doubt that without goaltender Ondrej Pavelec’s performance this would not have been a one goal game. And so far, it has been demonstrated that the Ducks can and WILL come back from a one goal deficit, if you allow it to happen.

So, what’s the game plan to turn Archuleta’s Ducks into cooked ducks? Simple really — according to Chabot, “They did it as a group down the stretch even when they had suspensions and injuries; everybody got points. For Winnipeg, it’s a team thing, it’s a group thing, and right now they’re not generating as much forecheck zone time as they did in that big stretch to make the playoffs.”

Sounds simple on paper, but when the puck drops tonight the Winnipeg Jets need to perform, and FINISH. Don’t allow the Ducks to comeback once they obtain the lead. This series can go back to Anaheim all tied up, or the Jets can start refueling the jet to go home — for good for this season.

GO JETS…. the whiteout has got to help!
