Arizona Coyotes Record Against Playoff Teams

Arizona Coyotes Out Of Playoffs; Here’s Their Record vs Playoff Bound Teams
The 2015 NHL Playoffs are in full swing and from the looks of it; its going to be a good one. Unfortunately for the third straight year the Arizona Coyotes will not continue play in efforts for a Stanley Cup banner in Gila River Arena. The Coyotes have not tasted post season ice since their Cinderella run to the Western Conference Final game in 2012 and are hungry to return to the spotlight.

The Coyotes have faced off against the sixteen playoff teams numerous times this season. Some games yielded good results, some bad. In fact, 46 of the 82 games (56%) that Arizona played this year were against a club who made the playoffs.
In those 46 games the Coyotes managed a 9-29-8 record against the upper level competition. The Arizona Coyotes unfortunately were only able to scratch out 26 points against playoff bound teams, or a winning percentage of only .282 — far from earth shattering. If they wish to make the playoffs next season, this needs to change.
To draw a comparison to the much more successful – 11-’12 season:
Their record vs playoff teams that year was 19-15-8 for 46 points or a winning percentage of .547, quite a difference. If you can hang with the good teams, you have a shot at getting to the playoffs.
