** Here are the Howlin’ Hockey Editor’s Predictions for the Arizona Coyotes games the week of 11-22 to 11-28-15

  • Game 21: Anaheim Ducks at Arizona Coyotes – November 25, 2015

Anthony Duclair has four goals in two games against the Ducks, and will be looking to continue his domination of their defense. In just the third game of the new season last month, Duclair got his first NHL hat trick in Anaheim. His first goal was right off the face-off, and he ripped one by Anderson before he could react.

The second goal was a thing of beauty as Max Domi raced around the left side of the Anaheim net and found Duclair in the crease area for another goal earned from sure speed of the ‘Killer D’s.” His third goal was earned from some good puck retrieval on near the left face-off circle, and again he was adept enough to shoot while the Ducks’ defenders screened their own goalie.

The next visit to Anaheim was November 9th, and this time Duclair assisted with their comeback victory, by scoring a power play goal. This go around he got the puck near the right side, and blasted a slapper by Anderson, who at that point must have wondered what it would take to stop Duclair from scoring on him. After Duclair’s goal cut Anaheim’s lead in half, the Coyotes went on to take a one goal lead, but the Ducks did a comeback of their own by tying the game at three. Mikkel Boedker took care of the rest, by winning the game with just over a minute gone in the 3-on-3 overtime, with a nifty breakaway goal.

The Anaheim Ducks are a real mystery so far this season, with a mere 7-9-4 record as of this writing. For a former powerhouse team like them to be 28th in scoring in the NHL is hard to explain. If the Arizona Coyotes can continue their rule over the Ducks, it will make for a good beginning of a three game homestead before the road weary team again heads out for a five game road trip. It seems they’ve hardly been able to unpack their bags much at all, early in this season. The schedule makers will then give them a break by allowing them to play 15 of the next 21 games at Gila River arena.

The thing is, they have a respectable 7-4-1 road record as opposed to only a 3-4 home record. This is their chance to improve those statistics.

Prediction: Arizona Coyotes 3, Anaheim Ducks 2
