The Arizona Coyotes finished last week 0-2-1 and now find themselves three points back of Anaheim and four points back of San Jose in the Pacific Division playoff race.

Further complicating matters, the Sharks have one game in hand while the Ducks still have two games in hand on the Coyotes.

By the time the puck drops in the Yotes next matchup at home on Wednesday they may well be more than five points back of both teams. That’s a tough pill to swallow for a team that was leading those same two hockey clubs by five points just a dozen games ago.

The Arizona Coyotes’ precipitous fall has again been marked by subpar special teams play and a return to the inconsistent goaltending efforts that have plagued Arizona throughout the season.
