The Arizona Coyotes have re-signed forward Stefan Fournier to a one-year, two-way contract. The franchise also extended it’s affiliation with the ECHL’s Rapid City Rush.

The Arizona Coyotes have reached an agreement with forward Stefan Fournier.

The restricted free agent agreed to the team’s qualifying offer on the same day that the Yotes locked up Tyler Gaudet for one more season.

The 24-year-old played 32 games for the Springfield Falcons in 2015-16 after Don Maloney acquired him in January.

He was part of the much maligned trade that sent John Scott to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Fournier and defenseman Jarred Tinordi.

Fournier has yet to play a game in the NHL, but looks to add even more depth to what is shaping up to be a promising Tucson Roadrunners team.

Arizona Coyotes Extend Affiliation With Rapid City Rush

The Tucson Roadrunners aren’t the only affiliates housing Coyotes prospects.

The ECHL’s Rapid City Rush signed on as the NHL franchise’s affiliate prior to the 2015-16 season, which was their first time being affiliated with an NHL franchise.

Now they are back for year two.

Here is the Arizona Coyotes’ press release on the renewal with Rapid City:

"Arizona Coyotes General Manager John Chayka announced today that the Coyotes have extended their affiliation agreement with the Rapid City Rush of the ECHL for the 2016-17 season."

"“We are pleased to renew our affiliation agreement with Rapid City,” said Coyotes General Manager John Chayka. “Rapid City is a first class organization and we are looking forward to another great season.”"

"Rapid City is entering its third season in the ECHL and plays its home games at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City, S.D. The Rush is one of 28 teams that compete in the ECHL and play in the West Division of the Western Conference. The franchise was founded in 2008 and won the CHL Championship in 2009-10."

"Mark DeSantis enters his first season as head coach of the Rush after being the associate coach with the team last season. DeSantis previously coached in the SPHL and CHL and was the inaugural captain of the Rush during the 2008-09 season. Rapid City will open the 2016-17 season versus the Colorado Eagles on October 7th."
