The Arizona Coyotes are another day into their break. However, with the additional time on our hands, we can look at some of the fun stories from around the league!

The Arizona Coyotes did make a few roster moves on Saturday that we have not talked about. Capobianco, Hill, and Chaput have all been assigned to the AHL. I think this is an indication of the team’s continued hope that Kuemper will be ready by the time the all-star break is through. I also believe Capobianco and Chaput will use this time as more practice and growth with the team. Personally I think Capobianco belongs in the NHL, the only issue is Arizona has so many good defensemen.

When you look around the league right now some of the top stories are all about which players are the dirtiest in the league. I am so happy the Coyotes do not need antics like that to win games. The Coyotes are constantly battling every game to win, but they don’t need to use tactics like other teams to intimidate their opponent. There are a lot of teams in the NHL, and by the time February is finished, there will be a lot of teams with new players in their lineup. The Coyotes are no different than everyone else, they are constantly looking to improve their roster this time of year, and maybe that means bringing someone else int the fold. I don’t think anyone would argue that the NHL is not a league based on parity. The league has so many teams that are all right next to each other in points. Just look at the Pacific Division and how close everyone is. An interesting topic to discuss is the ideology of a different point system in the league, using a 3-2-1 format. ESPN tackled this topic, check out their great article here! (ESPN)

We will be back tomorrow with more news from around the league and beyond! Until then enjoy your Tuesday!
