I grew up in Chicago, moved to Arizona in 1974. I have been a hockey fan for as long as I can remember. Still recall the games in Chicago Stadium, where smoking was allowed back then. I'd be up in the standing room only, attempting to see thru all the smoke! I certainly enjoyed seeing Bobby Hull, Stan Makita, and Glenn Hall. When I moved to Arizona, I was a big Phoenix Roadrunners fan. Especially enjoyed watching Robbie Ftorek play. Those were the good ol'days of WHA hockey, and WHL hockey. The games were wild, and entertaining. Since the Coyotes moved here from Winnipeg I have attended many games, and even worked at the then named Glendale arena as a guest services representative (usher). I got to see games for free, and even got paid for it! I was in hockey heaven. My fondest memories so far of the Coyotes was the 2011-2012 season when we went to the conference finals, and eventually lost to the L.A, Kings, who won the Cup. The WHITEOUT was electric! I'm a true Coyotes fan, who also watches the Chicago Blackhawks when possible, but my allegiance remains with the local team. I believe if you live here you should support the local team.I look forward to writing about Coyotes hockey and interacting with the fans. After all it's always about the fans! GO YOTES ! !
