Reports saying Bob Probert has passed away

I know this is a Phoenix Coyotes blog but I just wanted to let readers know that there are reports ( nothing confirmed at this point ) that Bob Probert (45)  has passed away after collapsing on his boat in Lake St. Clair (Detroit/Windsor area).

Probert played for both the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks between 1985 and 2002.  Known for fighting he posted 3300 penalty minutes in 935 NHL games.

Thoughts are with his family and the hockey world as we await for confirmation.

*** picture was from 2009 sorry for the typo

From the WIndsor Star: “The Probert family has called a 6 p.m. news conference at Windsor Regional Hospital to issue a statement.”
