Coyotes Struggles Continue

With the first month of the season already in the books, things aren’t going so well for the Phoenix Coyotes. With a record of 4-5-4 which makes them second worst in the Western Conference, things do not appear to be getting any easier. Shane Doan suffered a lower body injury late in last Friday night’s loss at Dallas. Doan is considered week to week. Ed Jovanovski will also miss a few games as he is out right now with an illness. This is the second time of the season Doan will sit out. He was suspended for three games earlier in the season for an illegal hit to the head of Anaheim Duck’s player, Dan Sexton.

The Coyotes have only played two games with everyone healthy. Only nine players so far have played in every game up to this point. The injury bug has really hit the Coyotes hard this year, and it appears to continue to get worse. Aside from all the injuries, the Coyotes play on the ice has been lackadaisical to say the least. The Coyotes next two games are against very good opponents on the road. They head to Joe Louis Arena on Monday to play the Detroit Red Wings and on Wednesday they square off with the Chicago Blackhawks.
