The world may be coming to an end. For the NHL that is.

In the latest flexing of muscles the NHL showed the Players association they still control everything. All the stipends and threats to decertify fall on deaf ears. At this point hope is fading for the true fans out there.

The puck is frozen in time, forever stuck on the goal line.

Skaters don’t skate, goalies don’t save.  Fans start to hate and lose interest every day.

There is speculation the league has set mid-January as a deadline to either get a new collective bargaining agreement in place or cancel the entire season. Whether the NHLPA moves to dissolve their union or not it seems to phase the NHL not at all. Unless the two sides get together prior to the end of 2012 this season just will not happen. It will push back all the progress to recapture fans from the disaster in 2004.

In the end the fans once again come out the biggest losers.
