Team USA routed a hapless Germany team 8 – 0 to start their opening round play. The Americans seemed unstoppable with this test before facing much tougher favorites.

Team USA is in a tough division which includes Russia and defending champs Canada. After going 1-1 in pre-play it was a nice start for the scrappy club who seems to be very hot at goaltender.
Locally we have a representative, Connor Murphy from the Phoenix Coyotes. Alex Galchenyuk appears to be the leader of this squad as well as Gibson who is a stud in net.
