Off-season is, at it’s very worst, one of the most stressful times of year for a hockey fan. Bloggers start attacking the mainstream media, fans start attacking each other, and NCAA free agents get the kind of star treatment normally reserved for
 well, actual stars.

Of course, off-season at it’s best isn’t much better. As trades and signings start to slow down, the hockey world starts to grasp at straws to remain amused. Rumors of NHL teams in Sin City are blown up so big that you’d think it was a national crisis, and next thing you know, Toronto is getting a second team by 2017.

Here at Howlin’ Hockey, though, we like to change up the pace a bit. Instead of wading through the stagnant social media circus, we’re looking ahead- at the Arizona Coyotes versus the world.*

Today, we played a fun game of verbal swordplay with Mike Hrankiwskyj, staff writer for FanSided NHL’s Too Many Men On the Site. As a die-hard Islanders fan, he and Howlin’ Hockey editor Catherine Silverman sat down to discuss how to two trans-continental teams might stack up in 2014-2015.

*The NHL consists of basically everyone in the world that matters, anyway. Right? Right.
