Mikkel Boedker writes a blog, and it’s perfect

In maybe the most exciting news I’ve read in a while, Coyotes forward Mikkel Boedker is writing a blog for the team. It’s called the ‘Boedker Blog’, which is super unoriginal but that doesn’t even matter.

His first post for the year was published to the Arizona Coyotes website on Tuesday morning, just in time for the season’s opening day. It’s solidly upbeat, which makes sense- according to the “Interesting Facts About Denmark” website that I found, studies done at both Cambridge and Leicester University have ranked Danish people as the happiest people in the world. I feel like this makes the Mike Ribeiro buyout even more justified, because who wants to bring down one of the happiest people in the world?

According to Boedker, he spent the majority of his summer overseas. He told us about playing for the Danish Men’s National Team, winning a golf tournament with Oliver Ekman-Larsson (sponsored by Oliver Ekman-Larsson, nonetheless), and being extremely touristy in London.

"“I also went to Sweden and played in a golf tournament with Oliver Ekman-Larsson, our agent and one of his friends from his hometown. Our foursome won – which was a nice bonus. I’m not sure everyone else playing liked that we won since the tournament was sponsored by OEL of Sweden, but we were thrilled. It’s always fun to win, right?”"

That’s the happy attitude I love to see, Mikkel.

He also spent a bit of time talking about the upcoming season and the team roster. He sounds excited about the guys he’s going to be playing with, as he spent a bit of time talking about how good he feels about this current group. He emphasized the importance of starting off the season on the right foot, and expressed his hope that the team will win the first four games of the season- which are all at home for the Desert Dogs.

He signed off by telling us that he can’t wait to write some more for us to read. I can’t wait to read it, either. He may not have the writing finesse of Down Goes Brown, but he’s putting his heart into it- and what better way to make fans feel appreciated than by giving them a firsthand glimpse at the season from a player’s eyes?

Write again soon, Boedker. We eagerly await your written prose.
