The Arizona Coyotes should hate Randy Carlyle, because the Leafs have a better record than the ‘Yotes

Congratulations to Randy Carlyle for being the first coach to feel the hate on Howlin’ Hockey.

Arizona Coyotes fans have been pretty terrified of what GMDM and Dave Tippett are doing. I think they’re doing what needs to be done, as I mentioned in my little blurb about Tobias Rieder, but the panic is *somewhat warranted*.

Randy Carlyle, though, is the Leafs member we love to hate: because if the Toronto Maple Leafs beat us, he’s the reason everyone will laugh.

This pretty much sums up Randy Carlyle:

    • Stats only tell so much of the story, but all signs point to the Leafs getting worse under Carlyle. That’s a direct quote from Steve- and, as someone who’s related to half of Toronto, I find this to be a pretty heavily agreed-upon opinion.

    So why should we hate him? 

    The Toronto Maple Leafs are currently 6-4-1 eleven games into the season. They still have some really weird puck possession issues and I don’t exactly understand which one of their netminders is supposed to be the better one, but they’re doing somewhat well. This pisses me off, because CARLYLE IS STILL IN CHARGE AND NOTHING HAS REALLY CHANGED.

    Oh, excuse me. The team has David Booth– who has done a fat lot of nothing this season, because he went down fifteen seconds into the preseason with an injury- and someone in the front office gave netminder James Riemer a nice talking to about why he won’t be able to find work elsewhere, so he’s got a nicer attitude. I think.

    Anyways.

    Randy Carlyle doesn’t seem to manage his team from a defensive standpoint.

    Do you know who else doesn’t? Dallas Eakins. Do you know who scored four times on the Coyotes? The team coached by Dallas Eakins.

    Randy Carlyle, you get our hate nomination this week, because I’m actually concerned that you’ve got a team that can beat the Arizona Coyotes. AND THE COYOTES ARE DOING ALL THE RIGHT THINGS SO THIS IS NOT WHAT I WANT TO THINK.

    Side note: If the Coyotes fire Dave Tippett before the Leafs fire Randy Carlyle, just because Phil the Thrill exists on a line with Bozak and JVR and Joffrey Lupul somehow wasn’t terrible until he broke his hand tripping over a stick in practice… expect a lot of misery.
