Will The Arizona Coyotes Improve With Prospects Added To Lineup?
Let’s Look Into The Arizona Coyotes’ Crystal Ball For Next Season…
For discussion sake, and because I like to prognosticate — if the Arizona Coyotes added some prospects to their team next season, what affect would that have on the team’s success?

Shall we begin with Max Domi? Why not… the kid (he just turned 20) has all the tools to be an excellent NHL player, and perhaps a star. Was it a good choice to send him back to the London Knights of the OHL for added experience? I think so. He has matured, and even took on the leadership role as captain this season.
Max Domi has to monitor his blood sugar level every 15 to 20 minutes while on the ice, due to his Type I diabetes which was discovered five years ago. He changed his number to 16 to match Bobby Clarke, who also has diabetes.

He is tearing up the OHL with 31 goals, 68 assists in only 56 games. The Knights’ last regular season game is March 20th, and if the Knights exit the playoffs early, the Arizona fans may get a glimpse of his outstanding talent before the NHL season transpires. If one were to assign him possible line-mates, adding him to a line with Martin Hanzal and Henrik Samuelsson was already tried in pre-season, and worked very well. They seemed to click, and that’s never a bad thing for line-mates.
Speaking of Henrick Samuelsson, he is doing well with the AHL Portland Pirates this season with 13 goals, 19 assists in 56 games. He had a brief call up from Portland to Arizona recently, playing in two games before being sent back to Portland.
Now we come to the newest prospect obtained in the Keith Yandle deal a couple weeks ago. Anthony Duclair (Tony D) will be a dynamic addition to the Arizona Coyotes lineup. He adds explosiveness to a team needing an offensive scorer. I would put him on a line with Sam Gagner at center and Toby Reider on the wing. That line would possess speed and scoring possibilities.
Let’s face it — this team needs to turn it around next season, and these prospects, along with whomever the Arizona Coyotes draft this summer, will improve this team dramatically. I am at the point where I can’t get a handle on whom I’m more excited to see play… Domi? You bet… Samuelsson? YES… Duclair? WITHOUT A DOUBT !
If you look at the potential these young players can add to the Arizona Coyotes, it takes away some of the bite of a dismal season, and leaves you with a warm feeling that they might just surprise some people next season, or the next. Don’t count them out — with an excellent head coach, and general manager who worked wonders at the NHL trade deadline, this team has something to prove, and if you miss out on that feeling… well then you’re just not a true COYOTES FAN.
I think that calls for a howl…. GO YOTES ! !
