The Time Is Now To Unleash The Arizona Coyotes Young Guns
Ok, we all know how GM Don Maloney has this thing where he doesn’t want to “rush” his young prospects before, in his opinion, they are “ready.”
When you look at how that has worked for him, you might begin to see my point of view.

Take Max Domi for an example. I believe if the Arizona Coyotes had given him a shot to play this past season, he could have helped a pretty dismal offense the team displayed. I mean, my theory is how much worse could they have been if they had added a talent like Max Domi? Sure, he will get a roster spot this season, and well deserved — FINALLY !

is in the boat this season. He has phenomenal offense talent, and when a player who is dominating his junior league is just put him back there again to
“season”
him, I think he gets bored. It’s much similar to keeping a student in classes they can master with their eyes shut. Players need challenges, and why not see what they’ve got? What can it hurt? If your team is fighting for a playoff spot, and you don’t want some inexperienced young prospects making mistakes which cost you important games, I can see that point of view.
Such wasn’t the case last season, and I doubt it will apply this coming season either. Will Dvorak muddle in the OHL again this season, or will Maloney roll the dice and hook up a really dynamic line I’m calling the “Triple D” line of Domi, Duclair, and Dvorak? We all saw how awesome they played in the World Junior Championships. Unless the Arizona Coyotes want to remain as one of the lowest teams in attracting fans through the turnstiles, they had better market these young guns, and reek the benefits. In other words… GO FOR IT ! !
The next Young Gun I’d like to see playing on the Arizona Coyotes roster next season is Brendan Perlini. This guy has so much potential to be an excellent two-way player, the kind that brings a smile to Head Coach Dave Tipppett’s face, and that’s not easy to do. He is always asking questions on how he can improve, and is absorbing information like a king-size sponge. He seems very dedicated to want to take his team to new levels. And, if any team needs a level boost, it’s his Arizona Coyotes. I say give Domi, Duclair, Dvorak, Perlini all a shot at making heads turn in the NHL.
Hey, at this point the team can ONLY improve, it can’t go much lower. With teams like the McDavid inspired Edmonton Oilers, the VASTLY improved Calgary Flames (how do you spell HAMILTON, FROLIK?), and even the lowly Buffalo Sabres, who made some definite improvements with none other than the self-proclaimed hockey hero, Jack Eichel; it seems the Arizona Coyotes could stay where they finished last season (please not another horrid season like that!) IF they don’t wake up, and at least give the young guns some ammo… LIKE PLAY THEM ! ! It’s not rocket science — and who knows it could bring more fans into those empty seats, and that’s always a good thing.
