A head coach suffers when his teams plays poorly, and is joyful and proud when they play up to their expectations. Last season Head Coach Dave Tippett definitely experienced the former. Dave Tippett enters his sixth season as the Coyotes Head Coach. Tippett was named the 17th head coach in Coyotes/Jets franchise history on September 24, 2009. even with uncertain ownership issues, and rumors of the team re-locating, he hung in there to develop a winner.

In his five seasons as the Arizona Coyotes head coach, he has compiled a 193-126-57 record (443 points) and three postseason appearances. Tippett is now the all-time winningest coach in franchise history, while his .589 points percentage is the highest of any head coach in team history.

His coaching record has been impeccable up until last season with the Arizona Coyotes. His lowest full-season point total was in the 2008-09 season with Dallas when his team collected 83 points.

With some trades and signing of free agents the face of the team will include:  Vermette, Michalek, Grossmann, Gordon, Richardson, and Downie.  Coach Dave Tippett hopes the losing is behind him. At the horizon, he still has great hope for young gun prospects like Max Domi, Anthony Duclair, Brendan Perlini, and Christian Dvorak to help bring a smile to his face.

The losing has not been easy on the coach, and at recent town hall meeting where the ownership and management of the team answered questions from the fans, one fan asked Head Coach Dave Tippett about how he handled the losing. He responded that “losing sucks.” His competitive nature always comes into play, and this man really hates to lose.

He has tried to instill that in his players, but last season things fell apart. Once management was resolved that the season was pretty much a lost cause, the “retooling” began.

The addition of Duclair for Yandle was a move which was painful, but had to be made. Losing Vermette and Michalek, along with the injuries to Boedker and Hanzel put the nail in the coffin.

I’m certain Head Coach Dave Tippett will have his team ready to play come October 9th against the arch rival Los Angeles Kings.

Dave Tippett has had his fill of losing, and now wants to get back to normal winning ways. Will it happen?
