The beginning of Mike Smith’s bounce-back year begins now. After switching up his training routines this off-season, the Arizona Coyotes goaltender is ready to show the league that he is back. His 14-42-5 record is a memory of the past as Mike Smith is determined to start fresh this NHL season.

  • Mike Smith had a solid preseason this year and wishes to continue his consistency between the pipes. With that being said, he is going to need some help from his fellow teammates. Mike Smith was left out to dry by his defensemen numerous times last season. The Arizona Coyotes will be looking to eliminate that habit going in to this game against the Los Angeles Kings.

    A goaltender’s vision is their number one attribute on the ice. When the goaltender loses sight of the puck, the opposing team is given a great opportunity to capitalize on that misfortune. The Arizona Coyotes defense will need to help Smith out a bit by clearing the crease from opposing players. By eliminating screens and deflections from the LA Kings, the Arizona Coyotes will have a chance to come out on top.
