Game 19: Arizona Coyotes at Montreal Canadians – November 19, 2015
This may be one of the toughest games the Arizona Coyotes have played this season. Why? The Canadians are leading the NHL in points this season with 28, that’s why.
Last season Louis Domingue went into Montreal and came away with a 3-2 victory. The Canadians came back and won the contest in Arizona by a score of 2-0.
Of course when you talk about the Montreal Canadians, your attentions immediately turns to Vezina Trophy winner Carey Price. His stats from last season show he’s a force to reckoned with in net. (44-16-6, GAA = 1.96, SV% = .933, S/O = 9). Wouldn’t every team give up half a team to get a goalie like that?

Montreal is a very stingy defensive team, only allowing 2.30 goals a game last season, and this season they are even harder to score against, with a mere 1.94 goals against per game. Their offense has really picked up this season scoring at a 3.65 goals for a game. Last season even with their 110 points and first place finish in the Atlantic Division, they only averaged 2.70 goals a game. Having a defenseman like P.K. Subban who has one goal and 15 assists certainly helps your chances of success. Center Thomas Plekanec has seven goals and nine assists to tie Subban for scoring on the Habs.
If the Arizona Coyotes can plaster Price prolifically period after period, they may have a chance to win this game. Their increased speed should help in that endeavor, and don’t forget the Canadians haven’t seen or been stung yet by the “Killer D’s” of Domi and Duclair. They need to hit the Canadians fast and without mercy to overcome this team, who is off to such an excellent start.
In the end, the better team usually wins, and in this case it is hands down the Canadians.
