The Arizona Coyotes finished last week 1-2-0 to close out their seven game home stretch with a 3-3-1 record.

The middle of the homestand found the Coyotes unable to score or perform on special teams, while goaltending continued to be steady.

The boys finally got a win and scored three goals on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Kings, launching themselves back into a playoff position in the Pacific Division.

With a back-to-back set against the Wild and Jets looming before the All-Star break, let’s see how the Coyotes fared last week.

Arizona Coyotes Trending Downward

These are the Coyotes stagnating or trending in the wrong direction:

After some lackluster performances last week, the Duke found himself skating on the fourth line.

On the one hand, this is a typical move by an NHL head coach to jump start a player who is struggling or perhaps not showing the proper effort or detail in his play.

On the other hand, the next player in this list is still chilling in the top six, so I kind of feel bad for <a href=. The Arizona Coyotes play just two games this week with the 2016 NHL All-Star Game is this upcoming weekend in Nashville.

With no actual representative in the All-Star festivities due to the John Scott saga, the veterans playing for the Coyotes will get some well deserved rest.

The Coyotes match up against the Minnesota Wild on Monday. I predict a low scoring affair with the Coyotes squeaking out another win behind the solid goaltending of Louis Domingue.

On Tuesday night, the Yotes face the Winnipeg Jets in the second game of a back-to-back. Considering we are likely to see Anders Lindback on this night, I suspect it will be a loss for the Arizona Coyotes heading into the All-Star break.

If the Coyotes can maintain playoff position heading into the All-Star break, the NHL at large will have to begin taking notice of what’s happening here in the desert.

For a team presumed to be dead on arrival in 2015-16, Dave Tippett has brewed up a strong willed group of grinders and young, explosive talent.

It’s been a fun first half.
