Shane Doan and other Arizona Coyotes have their fair share of TV ads. Let’s pick the best (and worst).

Getting drafted to the pros is probably the highlight of any athletes career.

Winning a championship would be up there, of course, as well as breaking a record in your given league, (looking at you shootout marksman Radim Vrbata).

There is one highlight that some athletes may be more proud of (or ashamed of) than others, and that is sponsorships and TV commercials.

Here is a look at some of the best that Coyotes past and present have been a part of.

MIKE SMITH – PAPA JOHNS

This ad is great because in real life it surely would have gotten the manager of that franchise fired.

Mike Smith breaks a number of health code violations and also shows up in the wrong uniform.

Tsk, tsk.

Smitty is in full goalie gear and he takes up half of the kitchen while everyone else works. He’s an overall nuisance in the pizza joint, but it’s okay with Papa John so long as you use that 50% off promotion.

Smith also takes a break to eat pizza.

It was probably one that was scheduled to be delivered to OEL’s house, or maybe it was meant for Devan Dubynk. We went there.

Overall Mike Smith’s failure at pizza making allows for us to enjoy the hilarity of this commercial.

SHANE DOAN – DESERT SCHOOLS

This poor man who just wanted some cash gets a whole lot more from the captain.

Shane Doan ruins this man’s night night by shouldering him into the ATM and causing the man to lose his popcorn, as well as some brain cells.

This ad is clever, and funny as it takes the play on words to a whole new level.

THE GREAT ONE AND PIERRE?

When you think of the greats Gretzky shared the ice with, you automatically think Pierre, the Coyotes odd snowman mascot.

Pierre was the Bizarro Frosty the Snowman that the Coyotes used in a number of awful ways.

This ad is truly amazing on another level because it features The Great One and a puppet snowman who has a permanent black eye.

PAUL BISSONNETTE TACO BELL

A sight Arizona Coyotes fans were used to was Paul Bissonnette in the penalty box.

What is great about this ad is not only was Bissonnette in the box, he brought along some Taco Bell for his time in the sin bin.

I feel like this is a very realistic scenario for Biznasty. Who couldn’t see him having a snack to refuel on while serving out his five minute majors.

MAX DOMI WITH CONTOUR NEXT

Highlighting Max Domi’s struggle with diabetes and his tough road to even making it to the NHL is genius.

Yes, they are trying to sell a product, but aren’t all ads?

The special part about this ad is that it provides inspiration for any little skater who may struggle with an ailment that makes playing the game they love that much more difficult.

Domi shows them they don’t have to give up or give in. And that’s why he’s a star.
