With an improved season with the Arizona Coyotes under his belt, upcoming Coyotes forward Christian Fischer should be an interesting story to follow for the upcoming 2018-19 Coyotes season.

In our next addition of players to watch for the upcoming season, we take a look at Arizona Coyotes forward Christian Fischer. Following a strong 33-point season last year, there will be some higher expectations for the 21-year-old right winger for the upcoming season.

With some additional changes to the Coyotes roster during this offseason that will look to be a large addition to bolstering their offense, Fischer will be an interesting piece in the roster to keep an eye on when it comes to providing additional scoring depth.

"According to a scouting report from Keith Duggan, Duggan gives his take on Fischer “With more playing time we should see the budding power forward bump his production up even more. Don’t sit on Fischer, he’ll never be a top scorer like Keller but he’s a solid winger who will put up many 20 goal seasons in his future”."

Drafted by the Coyotes with the 32nd overall draft pick in the 2nd round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Fischer spent the first two seasons in the AHL with the Springfield Falcons and the Tucson Roadrunners before making his Coyotes debut during the 2016-17 regular season — where Fischer played 7 games with the Coyotes, recording 3 goals.

After getting a taste for the professional hockey style, Fischer stormed back next season with the Tucson Roadrunners recording 47 points in the season, finishing as the second highest scorer on the team behind center Chris Mueller (67 points).

Last season Fischer was able to get his first real taste of NHL action, playing 79 games with the Coyotes. Being his first taste of real NHL-action, Fischer put up 33 points in the season — which is a solid representation that Fischer is beginning to understand the different pace of the NHL, but still has plenty of room to improve.

Post-training camp prediction

After a full season under his belt, it should not surprise anybody that Fischer will more than likely be a part of the main roster to begin the upcoming season. Now after all of the changes to the team during the offseason, there is only one real question — where will Fischer fall into a role for the team?

Given his solid scoring touch, it is fairly easy to predict that Fischer will more than likely play alongside newcomer Vinnie Hinostroza on the third line allowing the Coyotes to have a physical presence, but also carrying the lethal ability to put up points when the first two forward lines are catching a break.
