The Arizona Coyotes might have lost heavily to the St. Louis Blues but the game saw the return of Brad Richardson to the ice.

The St. Louis Blues continued their recent run of victories with a 4-0 demolishing of the Arizona Coyotes, but the team will be pleased to see one of their key players back in game action.

Brad Richardson is a solid defensive centre for the Coyotes and provides them with valuable skill in the face-off circle.

The 34-year-old journeyman forward had his minutes managed in his first game back since suffering an upper-body injury, with his last game coming against the Vancouver Canucks on January 10th.

In just 13:30 on the ice, Richardson had 24 shifts (joint-fourth) and threw a hit, showing that he is confident enough in his own body, despite being out for more than a month.

He managed to have two shots registered in the game and came out of it with a 50% Corsi rating and a 53.8% success rating in the face-off circle – continuing his strong form, which has seen the former Stanley Cup Champion win 54.7% of face-offs across the season.

The heavy 4-0 loss will undoubtedly be a disappointment for everyone involved with the Arizona Coyotes, from players and coaches to executives and all the way to the fans.

But the Coyotes are finally starting to see players return to the ice that were previously believed to be out for the remainder of the season.

Christian Dvorak, Michael Grabner and Jason Demers have all been taking part in team practices over the past week or so and could all make returns before the end of the season – giving the team a huge boost.

The Arizona Coyotes do have a tough test in tonight’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but having a guy like Richardson back in the line-up will certainly help the team.

Arizona Coyotes should be sellers at the deadline. dark. Next
