Happy Monday Arizona Coyotes fans! Even thought the Coyotes have a few days until their next game that does not mean we are not here to give you your Morning Howl Report!
It is Monday October 7th, and the Coyotes do not play again until Thursday when they host the Vegas Golden Knights. The Arizona Coyotes are now 0-2 this season but that does not really tell the entire story.
Sure we could talk about excuses, of playing a hot goaltender, or maybe having a new group of players come together so early in the season. Either way the goals are not coming easy for the Coyotes, which was one of the main reasons the Coyotes opted to bring in Phil Kessel this offseason.
Kessel, is a veteran NHL player, who has played for teams like the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Pittsburgh Penguins. He has made it to the playoffs with every one of the teams he played with, so hopefully he can continue that trend with the Coyotes!
We have sometime until game day on Thursday, Howlin’ Hockey will give you all different forms of analysis before the game on Thursday but in the meantime here are a few different stories to follow before the game on Thursday.
How to spread out the Arizona Coyotes depth scoring. (Howlin’ Hockey)
Only the top line has registered a goal throughout the first two games of the season. Obviously Coyotes fans love how the top line looks but that still does not change that no one is scoring goals for the ‘Yotes. Before game 3 of the season maybe the Coyotes should shake up the lines to provide a new spark to the team.
Antti Raanta returns to the Coyotes.
Raanta was called up from the minor leagues a few days ago and honestly that only makes the Coyotes better. Kuemper has played amazing so far but having a second goaltender as talented as your starter only makes your team better. Adin Hill was sent back down to the minors as a result of Raanta’s return.
The Coyotes need to fix their power play before game 3.
I think this headline is pretty easy to follow. With a few days before the Coyotes next game you can imagine we will be following the power play a lot in the next few days. The Coyotes failed to register a power play goal in the first two games of the season, and not from a lack of trying. They had opportunities, but they could not capitalize.
