The Arizona Coyotes got another win last night, this time against the Ottawa Senators.  Arizona was not the better team at sometimes tonight, and the ‘Yotes had to stop some rushes from the Senators in the third.

The Arizona Coyotes started off strong last night, tallying 2 first period goals. The defense was the saving grace to start tonight, rookie Kyle Capobianco got the first goal of his young NHL career, and Oliver Ekman-Larsson followed up later on in the period to give the Coyotes a 2-0 lead.

Conor Garland tallied a goal in the second period to give the Coyotes a 3-0 lead. Outside of that, not much else happened in the second. Of course, one thing to note is the Coyotes went 0-4 on the power play through the first 2 periods. When you have the opportunity to look back on the power play after a win it is not a big deal, but they need to do better against a week.

The third period was a bit of a rough place for the Coyotes tonight. They looked like they just accepted they would win the game and stopped playing hockey, I mean I do get it but come on guys.

Arizona gave up the first power-play goal of the season for the Ottawa Senators. Congratulations guys, we are going to get made fun of for that. The Coyotes did finish strong and tally another power-play goal thanks to Carl Soderberg this time. Then Lawson Crouse sealed the game for the ‘Yotes with his empty-net goal.

Let’s hear from a few of the Coyotes players following Arizona’s win over the Senators last night.

The Coyotes were outshot tonight against a very poor team in the Ottawa Senators. The Senators improved to 1-5-1 on the year, while Arizona moved up to 4-2-1. 5 straight games with a point is not that bad in my opinion.
