Game preview : Arizona Coyotes at Buffalo Sabres
The Arizona Coyotes are finally going to finish their four-game road trip tonight. This time against the Buffalo Sabres
Those 4 pm starts will soon be a thing of the past Arizona, rejoice my friends. Oh until they play another team on the east coast that is.
Tonight the Coyotes will faceoff against the Buffalo Sabres, a team that one of our assistant coaches knows a thing or two about. Phil Housley was fired last season by the Buffalo Sabres. He then joined the Coyotes staff this summer as an assistant coach.
Housley knows Buffalo like the back of his hand, and hopefully, the Coyotes can use that to their advantage tonight.
I believe the toughest game so far this road trip is yet to come for the ‘Yotes. Buffalo is a very deep team and is currently 9-2-1. The Coyotes are going to want to beat a team like this to send a message and earn some respect.
Everyone wants to finish strong on a home stand, and now will be the time to do that.
This is a new Buffalo team then we have seen over the last few years. They are currently first in the Atlantic Division with a record of 9-2-1 so far this year and will be trying to make a run to the playoffs.
Buffalo is a team very similar to Arizona. They are young and have speed, and are finally looking to make a turn in their NHL teams standings. The Sabres are coming off of a 2-0 victory over Detroit a few days ago.
The Sabres are led by players like Jack Eichel who has 16 points, Sam Reinhart and Rasmus Dahlin who each have 10 points. As well as great goaltending from Carter Hutton and Linus Ullmark so far this season. Linus Ullmark is coming off of a shut out against Detroit on Friday, so keep your eye on the goalie.
For the Arizona Coyotes expect to see the same kind of effort from the ‘Yotes that you have seen so far this road trip. They are resilient, and they refuse to go away no matter what the circumstances.
Expect to see a big game out of Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Clayton Keller. Keller got his first goal of the season on an empty net in New Jersey, and we need to see more from the young goal scorer.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson has been all over the ice throughout his first few games of the road trip. This is what head coach Rick Tocchet had to say following the ‘Yotes win over the Devils.
Without further ado here are our 3 keys to the game tonight against the Sabres.
