After playing in two close contests with games going into a shoot out the Coyotes are going to have a day off before playing the Minnesota Wild on Thursday. With the spare day, today’s Morning Howl Report will be filled with news from around the league!

Arizona did the impossible on Monday and Tuesday when they beat the two previous Stanley Cup Champions on the road. It is always nice for the Coyotes to get a win, even when they did not really deserve it.

On Monday the Coyotes failed to hold a lead against the Washington Capitals, and if it was not for the reviewing system during OT the ‘Yotes would have failed to win again. The Coyotes ended up going to the shootout to win thanks to a big goal by Conor Garland to end the game. (Howlin’ Hockey)

After having a strong start in the past few games only to relinquish the lead, the Coyotes changed things up on Tuesday. Playing against the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Coyotes failed to have a strong start. Luckily they got to take a page out of their opponent’s book for a change. The Coyotes managed to come back from scores of 1-0 and 2-1 to win in a shoot out thanks to goals from Conor Garland and Nick Schmaltz.

It is fun watching OT and shoot outs, and although the team managed to play well in extra time, they also relied on goalie Darcy Kuemper a lot through the game. Hopefully, the Coyotes can try and play a pure full game against the Wild on Thursday.
