The Arizona Coyotes could not pull off their regular late-game heroics tonight against the Minnesota Wild. Although the team failed to win, there is still much to discuss in today’s Morning Howl Report!
Special teams were the biggest issue tonight for the Arizona Coyotes. Although the team played well at times tonight and offered one of the best late-game pushes to score of the season, the team went away with a loss tonight regardless. Arizona needs to start doing better on the special teams if they want to continue to win games. The Coyotes are 7-0 when they score a power-play goal, and last night they failed to do just that. Although the Coyotes lost there are still some positive takeaways from their game last night. The team currently sits in second within the Pacific Division, behind only the Edmonton Oilers. As long as Arizona continues to play at a high level they should continue to succeed.
The ‘Yotes are next scheduled to play tomorrow against the Calgary Flames at home. The team looked gassed tonight, after having 3 games in 4 days you would expect that, but now they need to use whatever gas is left in the tank tomorrow against the Calgary Flames.
Calgary is only one point behind the ‘Yotes for second in the division, so winning this division game will be critical to the team’s success down the line.
The Coyotes have been linked with a lot of players in the past few weeks for possible trade targets. With all the trades being talked about is there any player you would like to see John Chayka add to the Coyotes? One player talked about was Alexander Barabanov from the KHL. Although this would not be a trade per-say, adding a talented player could help the Coyotes out in the long run. (Five for Howlin)
Another team kicking the can on trading players would be the Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago is in the midst of an on-again, off-again playoff race. When you have something like that a lot of players can be talked about as trade pieces, and Arizona could use any of them. (Blackhawk Up)
