Adin Hill did not manage to pull of a win last night for the Arizona Coyotes, but he did try his best. Losing goalies Antti Raanta and Darcy Kuemper hurt the team, but Hill is certainly stepping up to the plate.

Adin Hill is not the Arizona Coyotes starting goaltender, he is not even their backup right now. Hill rather is a goalie who has stepped up to the crease in the absence of goalies Antti Raanta and Darcy Kuemper.

Hill has now started in 3 games for the Coyotes this season, and he has managed to stop 129 out of 140 shots on goal. Although Hill might not have the best numbers out of the other two goalies Arizona has, he is still growing as a player.

Adin Hill is only 23 years old, and there still is a lot of time to decide whether or not he can make it in the NHL as a starter. Just think of how long it took Raanta and Kuemper to break into the league. Maybe 3 or 4 years down the line Adin Hill will be in the conversation of the Coyotes starting goalie, for now, we will just have to wait and see.

Here is hoping Kuemper and Raanta make a speedy recovery, but honestly Hill did his best on Sunday to try and secure a win for the Coyotes. Hill dragged the Penguins to 8 shoot out rounds, and you can not blame him that only Taylor Hall managed to score on the Penguins!

With both Raanta and Kuemper out with lower-body injuries, the Coyotes are going to lean on Hill and Ivan Prosvetov to pick up the slack in the net. Prosvetov is only 20 years old and is one of Arizona’s best goalie prospects.

I would not expect the Coyotes to come back and have a full-blown “Matt Murray” or “Jordan Bidington” type of goalie now. Don’t get too attached to either Hill or Prosvetov because when the time comes they will be back down in the AHL while Kuemper and Raanta help carry this team to the playoffs!
