Arizona Coyotes All-Star Break Grades – Christian Fischer
Christian Fischer has been one of the Coyotes best bottom 6 forwards this season whenever he gets into the game that is.
Christian Fischer has played in 42 NHL games this season. He has been rotating in on the Coyotes bottom lines throughout much of the season and is still trying to find a scoring touch to make an impact on the goal sheet.
Something I am guilty of at times is forgetting how old Christian Fischer is from time to time. The young Coyotes forward is only 22 years old and is already set to play in his 200th game this season. The former 2015 2nd round pick will play in his 200th game the next time the Coyotes lace up their skates against the Anaheim Ducks.
It is crazy to think that Fischer is only 22 years old. He has already really made a name for himself as a great grinding forward that any bottom six would be lucky to have. Fischer already has 105 hits this season and is only 19 away from passing last seasons total.

The role Christian Fischer is playing is something any NHL team needs. Now would I like the Coyotes to go out and add a real gritty bottom-six player like Ryan Reeves, yes I would, but at the same time they have everything they need in Fischer!
For Fischer’s play this season he has earned a C+ rating. I don’t think I can give him a higher rating, while I would like to he does only have 8 points. I don’t know if he is going to be able to tie last season’s goal total at 11 again. Right now he only has 5 goals, and unless they play him in a bigger role he is not getting there.
Christian Fischer can be a very talented player in this league, it’s just a matter of the Coyotes using him to the best of his ability. Arizona has a lot of players they can turn too, it is just a matter of seeing who they choose to help get them the win this season!
