The Arizona Coyotes got a much-needed win last night against the Edmonton Oilers. That win ended a long-term losing streak for the Arizona Coyotes.

In the Coyotes last 10 games they have one win, but hey that is okay because their last game was a win right? The Coyotes got the first goal last night thanks to Conor Garland and they held on to it the entire way.

Antti Raanta played great last night pitching a shut out with 30 saves. Although the team won there are still some areas to grow moving forward. The Coyotes failed to get a power-play goal yet again, they had three opportunities and did not register a single goal, at the same time their penalty kill did make four big stops to keep the Oilers out of this one the entire way.

Arizona now pulled themselves into fourth place within the Pacific Division. They are also tied with Vegas for the third spot in the division. I would not say we have been playing our best hockey, we all know we are playing far from it. However, at the same time, we did catch a break that the standings are still somewhat favorable.

Yes, the Calgary Flames have a game in hand and are only down by one point, but at the same time we are only four points behind the Vancouver Canucks, and if we can play at a high level the rest of the way there is no reason we shouldn’t be able to move up in the standings.

I know that earlier today we were already talking about this season being written off as a failure, but if this team can pull three or four wins together in a row they can do some real damage sooner rather than later.

Of course, our next two games are against two great Eastern Conference teams so this still could turn around. Winning is everything from here on out!
