For the Arizona Coyotes, nothing is guaranteed year in and year out. While this season started off strong and looked to be like a playoff season, the last few months have truly let fans down.

We have already talked about how Nick Schmaltz has not been great, but at the end of the day, this is a team game, and everyone has not been at their best. This season is definitely shrouded with uncertainty.

The Arizona Coyotes are most likely going to miss the playoffs again. That means we are going to have another long offseason wonder what more needs to change, who might be shipped off of the team, and who might be brought in. I think those are all valuable pieces to ponder on over the next few months, but at the same time, we still do have some games ahead of us.

While the future is uncertain, the present still has some games coming up. Now is the time for the Coyotes to start to build and adapt for next season. I believe that instead of going for wins the Coyotes should try and just go out there and play. The recent injury to Conor Garland only hurts our playoff chances even more.

I think the biggest issue facing the Arizona Coyotes moving forward is not overacting from another season outside of the playoffs. While we thought that the Arizona Coyotes were going to be ending this season in the postseason, the timing just did not work out. An injury to our star goalie helped turned the tide to an eventually bad second half of the season.

The NHL is all about getting hot at the right time, and the Coyotes simply could not do it this season. I hope we can bring players like Taylor Hall back next season, but even if we can’t I still think we are in the right position.

The Coyotes have a great foundation, they might not have the right coach behind the bench, but the foundation is set. Players like Jakob Chychrun, Nick Schmaltz, and Clayton Keller are going to be here well into the future.

Let’s not jeopardize those young players’ futures just because of the bad ending to this season!
