Arizona Coyotes take on the Anaheim Ducks in a re-match at Honda Center

I love re-matches!

Seriously, I’m getting all tingly thinking about it.

The last time the Arizona Coyotes skated out at Honda Center was quite a joyous time for Coyotes fans everywhere. The under[desert]dogs came back from a 2-0 deficit to ultimately bring the game to overtime, then a shootout — which the Coyotes won in a far more spectacular fashion than they did last night.

As with the last time the Coyotes and the Ducks went head-to-head, Arizona is coming off a win and the Ducks are starting to struggle. Does this mean the Coyotes are OH MY GOD DEFINITELY THE NEW DARK HORSE PACIFIC DIVISION CHAMPIONS? Nah… but it means they certainly have a chance to take home another one or two points in tonight’s contest.

Details for Sunday night’s game

Predictions:

The Coyotes tend to do well when coming off a really nice win, and there’s nothing nicer than coming out on top when you were outshot, outpossessed, and outmaneuvered at every turn. Mike Smith held it down last game in Anaheim… coming off a win… in which Devan Dubnyk and the rest of the Coyotes went back and forth with the Washington Capitals all night for an extremely close victory.

SOUND FAMILIAR?!?!

Because I’m optimistic and I like how the team performs when they’re fresh off a dazzling two point win, I’ll go ahead and give this one to the Coyotes. (Plus, we here at HH think we’ve figured out the magic formula for live-tweeting the game and ensuring a victory — we’ve totally got this, guys.)

Corey Perry is going to open up scoring, but Oliver Ekman-Larsson has a lot to redeem himself for in regards to last night. Expect him to shut down this mumps-infested winger and help lead the Coyotes to another divisional win.
