Who’s in Net:
That is a moot question, as Carey Price OWNS the Montreal net. He actually puts the team on his back and carries them around a lot. Dustin Tokarski is his backup…yeah like he needs one.
Quick thoughts about the Canadiens:
- Price is only human, and at times last season he was the reason they won when they won. His team doesn’t score much for him (boy can we relate to that) and it puts added pressure on his performance.
- They have talent, and need to start using it. Max Pacioretty, who is an American will take over as captain. Can he help enough to get this weak offense jump started?
- They may score more this season, and they really need to do so. Price sold his superman costume, so you see what has to happen.
Why the Canadiens will win the Stanley Cup:
With Subban, and Price this team has the capabilities to go all the way. Will they? Yet to be determined.
Why the Canadiens won’t win the Stanley Cup:
They are very vulnerable without Price, and if he gets injured or has an off year, they may need to sound the alarm. It’s a lot to ask of one player to carry a team. Price could get worn out, and start to falter.
Three Things We Like About You:
- We like that you are part of the original six and all of the history and Stanley Cups that come with that.
- We love that not all of your players speak French. You actually have an U.S. born player as your captain.
- We think that when Quebec gets added, renewing your rivalry with them will be good for the NHL.
Three Four Things We Don’t Like About You:
- We aren’t real fond of the Original Six, but you don’t seem to flaunt it like some teams do.
- It’s a little cold up there for us Southern guys on those long road trips. Couldn’t you have better heaters in our locker room?
- Decide what you want to be called. Multiple names? Canadiens, Habitats, Habs… One would be enough.
- Just stop thinking that P.K. Subban is above all other D-men. We have Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and he’s pretty awesome as well.
Prediction:
If they can give Cary Price a lead once in a while, they could make it to the Stanley Cup Finals. Their team is balanced and have some good players. They just need to score more… score, score, score. You’ve got the best defense, but need to put the puck in the net more often. You’ll make it to the Semi-finals again, but not past that.
