Arizona Coyotes management has brilliantly added talent to the roster using every means at its disposal. Despite the magic off-season, the team is getting no love from Las Vegas odds makers and ranks as the NHL long-shot to win it all.

Arizona Coyotes newly installed General Manager John Chayka has worked wonders to improve the team during the summer months. Using the draft and some adept trades, Chayka has made his mark on the NHL and earned the respect of a fan base eager for a playoff run.

Overflowing with young talent, a greatly enhanced blue line, a pair of exciting goaltenders, and sheer speed at forward, the Arizona Coyotes are set to make their mark on the 2016-17 season.

We know the potential. Soon we’ll see the possibilities.

With pre-season games underway and the World Cup in our rear view mirror, we’re just starting to see the impact these newly-acquired players can provide.

Fans are excited. I’m excited.

Las Vegas odds makers? Not so much.

Articles are beginning to appear about each team’s chances this season.

More from Coyotes News

One after the other, the odds makers are saying the Coyotes are the NHL’s long-shot for a playoff run in 2017.

That’s fine with me.

The Arizona Coyotes are all about beating the odds.

The team overcame great odds to get to the Western Conference Finals four years ago.

New ownership, led by Anthony LeBlanc, purchased the franchise when all odds said the team would be relocating.

True to his word, LeBlanc has invested in the franchise’s Arizona presence by moving a team to Tucson where we now have the Roadrunners.

Captain Shane Doan beat all of the odds with 28 goals last season to lead the team. And the Coyotes were in the playoff hunt for much of the year.

As we prepare to settle in for the Coyotes’ 20th season in Arizona, those odds makers aren’t getting any attention from the Grand Canyon state.

Beating the odds is just a way of life for our Coyotes.

As we settle into our seats with the smell of concessions in the air, and sounds of our own Patrick Lauder singing the National Anthem filling the arena, another Coyotes season will be kicking off. But this time it will be a very special season.

It was USA Olympic gold medal-winning coach Herb Brooks who said that great moments are born from great opportunity. At least Kurt Russell playing Herb Brooks did in the movie Miracle.

Arizona Coyotes fans believe in our team, and we believe in this year. We believe that anything can happen, that miracles on ice are possible.

Yotes fans don’t care what the odds are.

We believe in Head Coach Dave Tippett. We believe in GM John Chayka. We believe in all of the Arizona Coyotes players. We believe in ourselves. The greater the odds, the sweeter the victory.

Great moments are indeed born from great opportunity. And this season marks the beginning of our time.
