New York Rangers Blog Wants Doan, Gives Sources

Yesterdays post was about writers and columnists not citing their sources and using opinion as fact. Here is an article that shows their work. I saw the lead on Yardbarker (MSN and Fox Sports). The main article is pasted below, the link is at the bottom of the article. Pat Leaonard is with the New York Daily News. David Pollack is with the San Jose Mercury News. And most importantly, Kevin Delury is the author for New York Rangers Blog, a Ranger fan blog similar to Howlin Hockey.

Doan In Fact Asking For Four Years

WRITTEN BY KEVIN DELURY | WEDNESDAY, 08 AUGUST 2012 11:00

David Pollak at the Mercury News reports that a well-placed source advised him that Shane Doan’s camp is looking for a four-year deal. And because of that, the San Jose Sharks are officially out of the Doan sweepstakes.

Meanwhile, Pat Leonard at the Daily News notes that Doan’s agent recently confirmed that his client has received a four-year, $7 million per year offer from a team other than the Rangers, who still remain a favorite to land the 36-year old UFA.

It was reported in early July that a team from the East offered Doan a 4-year, $30 million contract.

The only known reports of an offer to Doan is from the Buffalo Sabres.
