Coyotes News:
The Coyotes gain another Samuelsson brother
After threatening the team with big changes on Sunday of last week, General Manager Don Maloney made good on his word Friday morning by trading Rob Klinkhammer to the Pittsburgh Penguins with a conditional 2016 draft pick.

In exchange, Pittsburgh sent defensive prospect Philip Samuelsson to Arizona… where he was automatically reassigned to Portland with his little brother, Henrik.
At best, Philip will get called up at some point during the season — he’s a big-bodied, back-end defenseman who looked promising during his collegiate career. If he plays over forty games this season, Pittsburgh will receive their conditional draft pick, since that should imply that Samuelsson is a competent new player.
At worst, he’ll get moved elsewhere for someone who can score, or he’ll spend more time developing with his brother.

Following the Samuelsson-Klinkhammer trade, the Arizona Coyotes made a couple rapid-fire roster swaps:
- Kyle Chipchura was placed on waivers; after clearing, he was kept on the starting roster
- Don Maloney recalled Andrew Campbell (D) and Jordan Martinook (F) for the game against the Boston Bruins; both were reassigned to Portland the following day
- David Schlemko has been reassigned to Portland. His call-up after clearing waivers was on emergency basis; the team expects to see Brandon Gormley by Thursday
Around the League:
- The Edmonton Oilers held a press conference, which essentially pointed fingers at everyone but the front office
- After receiving the good news that Jordan Staal was ahead of schedule to return to the lineup for the Carolina Hurricanes, his brother, Eric, suffered a foot injury and will be a game-time decision
- The Ottawa Senators fired head coach Paul Maclean
- Tyler Seguin scored two goals on Saturday night for the Dallas Stars to record twenty goals on the season; this leads the entire NHL
- Max Domi was named to the Team Canada tryout roster for the World Junior Championships after being snubbed last season
