 Arizona Coyotes vs Chicago Blackhawks

The two teams have not played as of yet, but I always look forward to the Hawks games. I am from Chicago originally, and follow them as my second favorite team behind the local boys — not something you’ll hear too often around these parts.

The Blackhawks are on a bit of a downslide as of late, losing 7 of their last 15. Before that, though, they pulled off an eight game winning streak, winning 11 of 12. I just know that when these two teams play the games are exciting and action packed.

Season series history:

Since this will be the first meeting for these two clubs, I will go back to last season to give you some history.

>> On 11-14-13, the Blackhawks hosted the Coyotes and won 5-4 in a shootout. The Hawks pulled out ahead with a 2 goal lead, but the pesky Yotes fought back, tying the game. This was vintage Smitty, as he came up big with 48 saves to give his teammates a shot at winning. Stone had 2 goals, and Doan also scored.

>> On 11-30-13 the Blackhawks traveled to the desert and came away with a 5-2 victory. The Blackhawks jumped on the Coyotes in the first 11:04 of the first period, taking a 3-0 lead. The Yotes fought back, but fell short.

>> 2-7-14 The final meeting found the Coyotes winning in a 2-0 shutout by Mike Smith who stopped 30 shots. The win pushed the Yotes into a playoff position with 64 points at the time.
