Arizona Coyotes 2015-16 Season Schedule Highlights

-As Arizona Coyotes 2015-16 season inches closer, here’s some highlights of the match-ups-

I don’t know about you, but the wait for the 2015-16 season to begin has been excruciatingly  L O N G . This is especially true coming off a dismal season last year, and the anticipated excitement generated by seeing our ‘young guns’ Max Domi, Anthony Duclair, Dylan Strome compete in an Arizona Coyotes regular season game.

Speaking of that, we won’t have to wait too long before we can see the Number One Draft Pick Connor McDavid play here at Gila River arena. The exact date is November 12th. We’ll have to wait another two months before the Oilers venture back to Arizona to show off their new rookie sensation, who has been compared to the second coming of Sid Crosby, Wayne Gretzky all wrapped into one fantastic talent. The Arizona Coyotes only play the Oilers three times this next season, so two will be right here.

Then, if you Jack Eichel fans want to see what he’s all about you will need to wait until January 18th, on a Monday night. I’ll bet the usual low attendance this Monday will be increased just to see the Number Two Draft Pick of the Sabres. Some are claiming he’s better than McDavid, and Eichel might be one of them. I have a bet with my Editorial Director (who is in Buffalo) that Max Domi will fare better in his initial season in the NHL, than Jack Eichel.

To break down the schedule further:

  • October – 4 homes games, 7 road games
  • November – 6 home games, 6 road games
  • December – 8 home games, 6 road games
  • January – 7 home games, 5 road games
  • February – 7 home games, 7 road games
  • March – 8 home games, 6 road games
  • April – 1 home game, 4 road games

In October the Arizona Coyotes head out on a long five game road trip to the east coast to play: New Jersey, New York (Rangers), Ottawa, Toronto, and Boston.

Another long road trip is in November where they play the Ducks, and Kings, come home to take on the Oilers, and they hit the road again for four games in Columbus, New York (Islanders), Montreal, and Winnipeg.

In December the Arizona Coyotes have a five game road trip in seven days meeting: Nashville, Detroit, Bufffalo, Carolina, and St. Louis. This trip will give the team and the fans our first look at the second overall draft pick, Jack Eichel.

The next long road trip is at the end of February. Another five games in seven days (gee, who makes up these schedules?) including: Washington, Tampa Bay, Florida, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh.

To close out the road warrior Arizona Coyotes’ schedule, they will finish the 2015-16 season with four games in five days visiting: St. Louis, Chicago, Nashville, and San Jose.

To improve on last season’s dismal results and to make the playoffs, the Arizona Coyotes need to win 20-25 games on the road, as well as at home. That will be the goal, and I say LET THE SEASON BEGIN!

The Arizona Coyotes announced that the rookies will report on Friday, Sept. 11 and will participate in their first on-ice practice session on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 3:00 p.m. at Gila River Arena. The Coyotes veterans will report to camp on Thursday, September 17 for medicals, fitness testing and media day. The first on-ice practice session for veterans will take place on Friday, Sept. 18 at 9:00 a.m. at Gila River Arena.
