There’s still a few free agents out there who may interest the Arizona Coyotes
With time running out until training camp, there are still some free agents available for teams to sign if they have cap room, like the Arizona Coyotes.

Of course, GM Don Maloney has mentioned that his team will more than likely wait to see what level of talent he has in training camp before making any additional moves. In other words, he may be interested in a nice player like Cody Franson, but wants to play the waiting game to see if he lowers his salary expectations.

Excluding Franson, who I think will sign with Boston due to them trading Dougie Hamilton to Calgary, there are a couple other defensemen and a forward who could peak the Arizona Coyotes’ interest.
One is defenseman Brett Bellemore, who is 27, a right-hand shot, and stands 6’ 4”, 225 lbs., who has not signed with a team yet. He has played the last three seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes, but in a limited status due to injury. He played only 49 games last season with two goals, eight assists. He would be available at a reasonable price, with his 2013-14 salary of $600,000 at NHL level, and $150,000 at AHL level.
Now, if Maloney wants a more experienced blue-liner, Marek Zedlicky of the Red Wings is also a free agent. He is up there at age 38. He has been around a while playing for four different teams. I don’t know, I just like any Red Wings player since they have such a good organization. He’s probably not going to interest Maloney, even though he owns 0.51 points a game ratio.
The final candidate for free agent signings could be Michael Ryder of the New Jersey Devils. He’s no spring chicken either, at 35, but has been a solid performer over his 12 years of playing right wing in the NHL. He has 0.60 points per game in his career including 90 power play goals. He’d be a good fill-in type of player, who finds the net at a 12.3 % shooting accuracy. His salary is a bit steep, at $3.5 million, but at his declining state he may need to ask for less to get signed.
So, there’s a few more players who may or may not fill the empty spots on the Arizona Coyotes roster. It will be interesting to see what Maloney does after he evaluates which, or even how many young prospects make it through training camp. My personal preference would be: Max Domi, Anthony Duclair, and Brendan Perlini. I doubt that Dylan Strome will make the team, unless he flat out impresses the management and coaching staff so much that they have no choice but to keep him on the opening night roster.
Once GM Don Maloney sees more of what kind of team he has in training camp (where they separate the men from the boys) he will have enough information to make a decision if more free agents need to be signed.
Good luck, because most of them will be gone…
