Arizona Coyotes Future Success Is In Prospects

Well, that didn’t take long did it? With the Arizona Coyotes 4-1 victory over the rival Los Angeles Kings the kids proved to be more than alright.

Max Domi and Anthony Duclair combined for a goal and 2 assists to kick the doors in on their Arizona careers. What is even more impressive was the way in which they applied their craft. Words like “exceptional” and “impressive” have been tagged to the two youngsters.

The key of course, will be consistency. If Domi and Duclair manage to build upon their solid start when the Arizona Coyotes have their home opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins, that would be fantastic. Incremental steps on a daily basis leads to sustained success. Baby steps for now — walk, and then run.

The Pittsburgh Penguins provide a different test than the Los Angeles Kings. Of course, the Penguins are lead by Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, but the addition of Phil Kessel in the trade from Toronto will pay dividends for them.

Personally, I am happy that the Arizona Coyotes are meeting Pittsburgh so early in the season. The Triplets still will not have had enough time to jell and develop chemistry. It’s possible Arizona can take advantage of that transition and exploit it. Additionally, the Penguins defense is young and slightly below average as well. All good things if you are an Arizona Coyote. Especially if your name happens to be Domi or Duclair.
